Goals and objectives of the lesson plan. Ask the opening question to the class while students break into their groups and log in to computers.
5-10 minutes
Have students get onto the google doc with questions and instructions and start working on finding the answers by researching on the internet.
10-16 minutes
Each group continues their research.
16-20 minutes
Groups will come to a circle and discuss what they found.
20-22 minutes
Instruct students to get back into their groups and click on the link to the glogster/wiki/google doc template. Describe what each group is expected to complete and what their designated topic is.
22 - 30 minutes
Let students work on this project.
30-38 minutes
Wrap up presentations.
38-40 minutes
2 minute discussion at the end of class for feedback or explanation of next class period.
Backup plan:
1- In case of offline situation: Just facilitate a discussion of different cultures. 2- In case we run out of time: Don't have student's visit each other's information and give them more work-time. Instead have them look at each other's for homework. 3- If we end earlier: We could extend the feedback section to take up more time. 4- In case the camera did not work: We have 3 other ones to use. 5- In case of having many computers on the left side that did not login: We would just have them log into four, one in each row, or go to the other side where computers hopefully work. Or have student's come up to the teacher's computer and work together.
